Christmas Parade Fun & New Christmas Applique Design

My mom asked if the girls could be angels again this year in the Lights of Christmas Parade. I said yes because I knew their little horns would easily hold up the halos. (haha) My mom and her friend are on the Christmas for Children board in their town, which is charity close to their hearts. My mom's friend was in charge of the float designed to promote the cause.

I had made Morgan one of the Christmas tree shirts, but of course MaKenna wanted hers to be different than Morgans. (Making 2 the same would just be too easy!! LOL) So, I designed the snowman shirt for her. It was so cold that night that you couldn't even see them under the layers of coats and angel robes, but at least the thought counts. Right? Mary Alex decide she was too old for a Christmas shirt and to be on a parade float. What a goof!

The Girls modeling their shirts.

The best picture I could get of the 2 of them together since they were refusing to pose.

A bundled up Morgan ready to waive to her fans.

MaKenna refusing to smile for a picture and making a goofy face.

Our Family Thanksgiving Recap......

We celebrate Thanksgiving with my mom and sisters the Friday after the actual Thanksgiving Thursday. My mom cooked a wonderful meal and my sisters and I were able to sneak out for a little shopping! (Thanks Mom!) I had to get some pictures of the scene around my mom's house after everyone stuffed themselves. It was actually quiet, which is rare!

MaKenna and Mary Alex passed out in Nana's bed for a long nap.
My brother-in-law and nephew found a comfy chair to sleep in.
Morgan was sprawled out in the floor in a spare bedroom trying not to fall asleep.

Later that night, once everyone woke up, the girls were in the Lights of Christmas parade in my mom's home town. I will post some pictures of that tomorrow. :)

Fun Twin Shirts

I had a special order from a proud grandma for a set of shirts for her twin grandsons. They were fun to make. I hope the boys and their parents love them!
The shirts are a soft long-sleeve blue and I used the orange Micheal Miller dots print for the lettering.
The backs each have a matching star.

I hope everyone out there in Blog Land has a wonderful week! The Christmas count down has begun!

My Cross Shirt

I have been wanting to make myself one of these for awhile, so last Friday night I sat down and developed the pattern while catching up on DVRed episodes of Private Practice. Brian and MaKenna were at the Mavs game, and the other two kiddos were quite, so I got it finished in one night. I originally thought I could just draw out the big cross, then shrink it for the inner cross. Ummmmm, that did not work out. Eventually I perfected the method and was really happy with the final result.

I combined Amy Butler fabrics from 2 different lines and used a brown long sleeve shirt from Target. It is really soft and didn't shrink at all when I pre-washed it.
My husband snapped this shot to give a better perspective of how it is place on the shirt. Too bad the sun's glare prevented us from getting a better picture. (Well the sun and the fact we were using his camera phone.)

Free Applique Giveaway, More Christmas Shirts & My First Tutus

B.B.Bear modeling the infant size skirt. (The picture was taken with my cell phone, hence the horrible quality!)

!!See the end of the post for GIVEAWAY details!!

I had an order from a friend for 2 Christmas shirts for her girls and asked if I could make matching tutus. I was up for the challenge and made the skirts in light pink, dark pink, and green. I also had an order from a high school friend for her daughter. Here is what I finished for them:

The left is a Toddler size tutu and the right is a baby size tutu. The tie closed in the back. Please excuse my horrible bow tying skills, I have not mastered that skills yet!

The shirts with the matching tutus.

I decide to use a big purple button on top instead of the small pink one since this is for an older kid. I like how it pops.

NOW FOR THE GIVEAWAY:
If you are a follower of my blog, I will email you the Christmas Tree pattern for free. Just email your request to:

Red Christmas T-Shirt

I had an order this week for a red version of the Christmas shirt I made last week. The customer wanted me to incorporate the same turquoise fabric from the first shirt, so I used different fabrics from the same fun Riley Blake fabric line. Instead of the bottom of the tree being a dark pink, I used an off-white. I kept the light pink because it looked cute with the red and other colors. (The layer on top of the off-white is light pink, but it is hard to tell in the picture.) I mailed it yesterday and hope she likes it! I was really happy with it.

Christmas T-Shirt

I finished the Christmas shirt I was working on this weekend. It was actually easy to put together once I developed the pattern. I had been dying to use this cute pink, green, and turquoise Riley Blake Christmas fabric and this seemed like the perfect project for it. The top is a cute pink flower button. (The bottom tree piece is hot pink, but my camera made it look red.)

What My Winners Ordered

I picked a couple winners when I had my giveaway and guest post at MommasKindaCrafty. I finished the items they chose with their gift certificates and put them in the mail this week.

Here is what I made for them:

Brittany  ordered a bib, burp rag, and onsie set for her new beautiful baby girl! Double Velcro on both sides of the bib makes it size adjustable so that she can use it for a long time.
Lisa has sweet toddler twin girls and asked if I could make toddler leashes. One end is a handle and the other clips on the child's belt loop. I remember waaaayyyyy back in my pre-kids days thinking these types of things were mean. Then, I had 2 toddlers at the same time that always wanted to run different ways. Then I realized these aren't mean, they are genius! LOL!

I hope both enjoy there goodies! I appreciate everyone that entered!

Thanksgiving T-Shirt

Morgan's teacher ordered Thanksgiving and Christmas shirts for her cutie patootie daughter. I finished the Thanksgiving one using a pattern a drew out after looking at several cute ones I liked online. The colors didn't photograph well because my camera is slowing dyeing. (Hint hint family.....Christmas is coming up) It turned out super cute. I need to find time to make my girls one! The Christmas one will be completed soon and I will post pictures.
